All year round many local schools, community groups and others visit the peaceful setting of the Leigh Buddhist Centre for an explanation of our beautiful meditation & shrine room (with Buddhist statues and art) and talks on meditation and the Buddhist way of life. The Centre is open to everyone and we are always happy to arrange visits and talks in the Centre.
Alternatively, we can send one of our teachers to your school or group to explain and answer questions on meditation and the Buddhist way of life.
We are very happy to discuss your visit with you beforehand and will do our best to tailor the session to your requirements. We can include a simple guided relaxation meditation and mantra with the students if this is appropriate.
Visiting you (assemblies and classroom talks)
We are happy for one of our teachers to come to you and visit your school. As a small non-profit charity our basic fee is £50 per visit. Please note: due to teacher availability we need to set a limit of up to 1.5 hours per visit to you. If you do need longer than this, please let us know and we will try to accommodate you if we can.
If you would like to visit the Centre, we request £1 per student to cover wear and tear (teachers and parents come free of charge).
Due to the size of our meditation room and public areas the maximum number of total visitors (children and adults) per session is 30.
Sessions usually last for up to 1 hour but let us know if you would like to arrange alternative timings.
